  Unending Sadness

  Black and red

  Her colors they do gleam

  Hair flowing down her back in an elegant stream

  Baby’s breath clutched in her hands

  With her every step her heart makes demands

  Turn back now; turn away! Her heart does plead

  Like crimson rivers down her arms she does bleed

 

  Heart to Heart

  Through numerous years

  Despite thousands of tears

  By my side you remain

  Your love a salve for my pain

  Through the miles that separate us physically

  You remain with me always emotionally

  It’s not like its blood in blood out

  More like heart to heart

  I tattoo your name on my heart

  Forever I will cherish your love

  And no matter what, know that we will never be apart

 

  Shaye

  Sweet disposition, tender, loving and kind

  When we’re together we always have a good time

  Happy and healthy with a love of running

  Laughter, joy and playing games

  A new member of our family, whom we love with all our collective hearts

  Youthful and energetic, she’s a ray of sunshine

  Everyone’s friend, she’ll steal your heart, easy as child’s play and that is our beloved Shaye.

 

  A Love Once Lost

  Lost in this dark place to which your rejection has banished me

  I look up and see the sun has been replaced by an unending velvet midnight sky

  I find that the taste of your kiss still lingers on my lips

  And my traitorous heart still whispers your name

 

 

  Prey

  Looking deeply into your eyes

  I can hear her heart’s silent cries

  You think of her as nothing more than an easy mark

  But now I’ve got you in my sights and you’re about to hear this bitch bark

  Like a wolf I protect my pack

  And I’ve always got my girls’ back

 

 

  Friendship

  Although we may not be blood

  For a group of very special guys

  Who are always the ones to dry the tears

  You guide me through every decision I make

  Like a guardian angel you always protect and watch my back

  As protective as any wolf for a beloved member of their pack

  Like an anchor on a ship you’ve seen us through some fierce storms

  Eyes a warm caramel brown like an ice cold Dr. Pepper

  Hair thick and dark as a raven’s wing

  A smile that could rival the sun in its warmth

  With a heart as wide open as a country sky

  Strong arms with which hold his daughters in a loving embrace

  Hearing his voice never fails to bring a smile to my face

 

 

  Lovers’ Dance

  Moving with fluid grace

  Her hair flowing out behind her like a cape

  Her skirt collecting tiny crystals of ice

  As she walks along the snowy ground

  Her favorite blossoms artfully arranged

  To appear as a lovely crown

  Baby’s breath and roses she clutched in her hand

  Down the aisle she walked to her beloved groom

  An irremovable smile played her lips

  As she anticipated the taste of his kiss

  Alas instead of the sweetness of her beloved’s lips

  It was the copper of her blood she did taste

  Instead of the love that she anticipated this day

  A pain sliced its fiery blade through her chest

  With tender reverence she was gently laid to rest

  And rain fell as though tears from Heaven’s angels

  At the welcoming home of one of their own too soon

 

  Stalker

  Stalking his prey with the fluid grace of a true predator

  Eyes and ears alert to every sound

  His pulse pounds out a strong tattoo

  As excitement pulses through his veins

  He watches as she slowly moves into the trap he’s laid

  At home safe and sound she should have stayed

 

 

  Betrayal

  Looking deeply into my eyes

  Tell me what it is that you see

  Do you see the tears that I cried?

  Do you see how deeply your betrayal cut?

  Into my flesh like a dull bladed knife

  Your words of love spoken with a forked tongue

  You never really cared for me

  You don’t know how much my heart bled

  How blindly I followed where you led

 

  Unhealthy Love

  A heart full of hatred

  A soul black as night

  Looking into his eyes

  She knows there’s going to be a fight

  Why won’t she leave friends want to know?

  How can a dove with broken wings ever take flight?

  She comes to her senses and realizes

  What a precious thing she’s tossing away

  With both hands

  Is so hard to find

 

  Isolation

  Sitting here in the prison that is my room

  I find myself contemplating my eternal doom

  How long must I wait for the bite of the snake

  Coiled in the corner of the room biding its time to strike

  With serpentine grace it slithers around the room

  Obsidian eyes gazing deeply into my own

  Almost as if it can see all the way into my soul

 

  Friendship

  Precious as pearls

  Radiant as rubies

  Each friend a treasure

  Of love and value beyond measure

 

 

  An Angel’s Heartbreak

  A tarnished halo sits above her head

  Blackened wings rest against her back

  Tears she does cry as she wishes to change her track

  For the love of another

  She cast her wings aside in anguish

  Now sent down from Heaven she does reside

  Feeling her heart steadily growing cold inside

  Together forever

  Always by my side

  As constant as the ocean’s tide

  With love in our hearts

  We face any odds

  We greet each other with smiling nods

  Our hearts beat as one
